Space to Think. Support to Lead.
Lead Space is a six-month embedded leadership development programme for emerging and developing people leaders.
Not a course. Not a workshop. A sustained practice - grounded in occupational psychology, applied in real work, reinforced over time.
First cohort: June 2026. Places are limited to 6–10 participants.
Most leadership problems don't start as leadership problems. They start earlier. And by the time they're visible — as grievances, resignations, or burnout — they're already expensive to address.
-
You see the patterns before they escalate. Managers who keep deferring the same conversation. A high performer promoted into leadership who's now struggling quietly. Issues that land with HR because they weren't addressed at manager level three months ago.
You've probably tried development before. A course. A programme. Something that didn't quite land.
Lead Space is built differently. It addresses the problem at its source - before the escalation, before the cost, before the pattern is embedded.
-
You went from being good at your job to being responsible for other people's performance.
And no one quite prepared you for the shift.
The decisions that feel heavier than they should. The conversations you keep putting off. The quiet sense that you're adapting without support.
That's not a reflection of your capability. It's what this transition feels like without the right conditions around it.
Leadership is learned.
Lead Space gives you the space and support to build it.
Poor leadership isn't just a people issue. It's an operational cost.
6-9 months' salary
The cost of replacing one person linked to poor management.
18-34% productivity loss
Before someone actually leaves - invisible, but very much there.
£5k–£15k+
Typical cost per HR escalation, grievance or long-term absence case.
Most organisations already carry this cost. Lead Space is designed to prevent it.

Five conditions that make behaviour actually change.
Insight alone doesn't change behaviour. Lead Space sustains, reinforces and embeds leadership capability in real work over time.
Behaviour change doesn't happen in a classroom. It happens through three conditions working together - and most leadership development only addresses one.
Lead Space is built on the COM-B model of behaviour change, applied through the lens of occupational psychology.
The COM-B change
Practical skills, psychological understanding and the judgement to lead people effectively.
Capability
Structured space, a trusted peer environment, and time to apply learning in real organisational contexts.
Opportunity
Weekly reinforcement, peer accountability and sustained support that builds confidence through practice - not through knowing more.
Motivation
“Most leadership development stops at capability. Lead Space is designed to provide all three of the COM-B model - over time, in real work.”
The Lead Space change
When leadership capability is built earlier, the impact is felt in both directions.
-
→ Handle difficult conversations earlier and more confidently.
→ Delegate more effectively.
→ Make better decisions under pressure.
→ Lead with greater consistency and less reactivity.
→ Reduce isolation - you're not figuring this out alone.
→ Build confidence through practice, not just knowledge.
-
→ Fewer issues escalating to HR or senior leadership.
→ Reduced avoidable attrition and performance drag.
→ More consistent management across teams.
→ Stronger leadership pipeline.
→ HR freed from firefighting to focus on building capability.
→ Measurable return on a fraction of the cost of one resignation.
Lead Space is built for a specific group. And it works best in specific conditions.
For participants - this is for you if:
You're new to managing people and finding the transition harder than you expected
You've been managing for a while but recognise gaps that show up under pressure
You're preparing to step into leadership and want to build capability before you need it
You want real support - not more frameworks - in a space that's honest and psychologically safe
You're willing to reflect, be challenged, and apply what you're learning in real work
For organisations - Lead Space works best when:
Managers have real responsibility for people
There is openness to reflection and development at a leadership level
Early intervention is valued over reactive fixes
HR or senior leaders are willing to support participants between sessions
The organisation recognises that leadership capability is a commercial priority, not just an L&D tick-box
Secure your place at Lead Space
If you're in HR, a People Lead, or a CEO thinking about your leadership pipeline:
-
The patterns that lead to grievances, resignations and escalation are almost always visible earlier - in conversations that don't happen, managers who take on too much, decisions that keep being deferred.
By the time those patterns reach HR, they're already expensive.
Lead Space is designed to address them at stage one - before they compound, before they cost, before they become someone else's (or your) problem to solve.
-
You can register your interest in the Lead Space Programme today to explore whether it's right for your organisation, or to nominate a specific individual.
-
When you register your interest, you'll receive the Early Leadership Risk Report for free - a short guide to the five early-stage leadership risks most likely to escalate if left unaddressed.
The report covers:
avoided conversations
over-functioning
inconsistent behaviour under pressure
reactive decision-making
lack of confidence.
The report is designed to help you identify if these patterns are already showing up, quietly, in your organisation.
When you're ready to nominate someone to join the Programme, they'll receive a 7-Day Leadership Reset Challenge automatically - a practical daily series to get them started before the programme begins.
-
Maximum 2 participants per organisation.
This is intentional - to preserve psychological safety, diversity of thought, and honest peer learning across the cohort.
Cohort size: 6–10 participants.
Starting: June 2026.
Investment: £1,500 per participant. Significantly less than the cost of one avoidable resignation.
If you're managing people and finding it harder than you expected:
-
Leadership isn't a natural transition. It's a learned capability - and it needs the right conditions to develop.
The conversations you're putting off. The work you're holding onto. The pressure to look like you've got it figured out when privately you're not sure. You're not behind. You're just in the part that most organisations don't prepare you for.
Lead Space gives you a structured space to think, reflect and be heard.
Expert-facilitated group coaching with people from different organisations - which means honest conversation, without internal politics.
Over six months, you'll build the judgement, consistency and confidence to lead more effectively. Not through knowing more. Through practising differently, with support, in real work.
-
A 6-month embedded leadership programme - guided through occupational psychology and real life application
A kick-off session (in person)
Monthly 90-minute group coaching sessions
Weekly reinforcement between sessions - prompts, reflections, direct access
A peer group you trust
A space where you're heard, challenged and supported in equal measure
-
You can register your place on Lead Space today. Simply submit the form below.
Your place will be allocated out of a max of 6-10 spaces, ensuring psychological safety, diversity of thought, and honest peer learning across the cohort.
-
As soon as you join the Programme, you'll receive a 7-Day Leadership Reset Challenge automatically - a practical, guided daily series to get you started before the programme begins.
For every day of the 7-Day Leadership Reset Challenge you will get a short daily email with a video from Kate, one practical action and one reflection.
The Reset Challenge covers:
awareness of your defaults
creating space
delegation
difficult conversations
decision-making
boundaries and reflection.
The same approach as Lead Space - compressed into one week, starting in your inbox.
About Kate
Occupational Psychologist | Certified Coach | Founder, Karibu CoachingBuilt by a practitioner. Grounded in evidence.
Kate Fonseca Williams is an occupational psychologist who has worked with leaders at every stage of growth - from small teams to global organisations.
Across sectors, sizes and seniority, she has seen the same pattern: high performers promoted into people leadership, without the support to make the transition well. And the downstream costs - to the person, the team, and the organisation - that follow.
Lead Space is her response to that pattern. It brings together occupational psychology, group coaching expertise, and years of practical leadership development work - into a programme designed to change behaviour in real work, not just in the room.
Kate is based in Cornwall and works with organisations across the UK.

-
Lead Space is a six-month embedded leadership development programme for emerging and developing people leaders. It combines expert-facilitated group coaching, weekly reinforcement and a trusted peer community - grounded in occupational psychology and applied in real work. It is not a course, a workshop or a one-off intervention. It is a sustained leadership practice.
-
Lead Space is designed for managers who have responsibility for leading people - whether they're new to management, experienced but recognising gaps, or aspiring to step into leadership. It's also relevant for HR and people leads who want to invest in leadership capability earlier, before problems escalate.
-
Initially the Programme starts with an in-person guided session.
Thereafter, each month, participants join a 90-minute expert-facilitated group coaching session online.
The cohort is made up of 6–10 people from different organisations - which removes internal politics and enables honest, cross-industry learning.
Between sessions, participants receive weekly reinforcement through structured prompts, reflections and direct access to Kate.
-
The multi-organisational structure is intentional. It protects psychological safety, encourages honesty, and accelerates learning through diverse perspectives. When participants can speak freely - without concern about internal politics - the quality of reflection and accountability is significantly higher.
-
The investment is £1,500 per participant for the full six-month programme (equivalent to £275 per month).
This includes all monthly group coaching sessions, weekly reinforcement, direct access to Kate, and the peer community.
For context, this is significantly less than the cost of a single resignation linked to poor management.
-
This is one of the features that makes Lead Space most effective. The cross-organisational structure means participants can speak honestly about their challenges without worrying about internal consequences. It also accelerates learning - hearing how others in similar roles approach the same challenges is one of the most powerful development experiences available.
-
Register your interest and we'll have a short conversation to assess fit before any commitment is made. We'd rather help you find the right support - whether that's Lead Space or something else - than fill the cohort with the wrong people. The qualification form helps us understand your situation and respond with the most relevant next step.
-
The first cohort starts in June 2026.
It is intentionally small - 6 to 10 participants, with a maximum of two from any one organisation.
If you're considering Lead Space, we encourage you to register interest sooner rather than later, as places are limited and offered on a first-come, qualified basis.
